I’ve had so many fantastic (if I do say so myself) ideas that I’ve fleshed out, built plans and models for and then dropped it somewhere in my google folder. For some, I’d gone as far as sharing with a friend or two. Then a year later I see the same idea as a full business. This business has all the aspects of mine. Sometimes its better than mine, other times, mine is better but the business is now a living breathing entity with an office (or website) and several employees…

After the sense of validation that comes (Yup, that was a solid idea), there’s usually a feeling of guilt and depression and sometimes even anger - why did they steal my idea?

I’ve both heard and read somewhere that there are no original ideas because every idea is in an eternal loop moving from mind to mind seeking a host to bring it to life. Today I read something that explains it even further. Every idea has a purpose which it selfishly seeks. That purpose is expression, and if it lands on an unwilling host, It identifies it and moves on just as quickly to a willing host and this is why two people in different continents can have the exact same idea that they’ve never told another human.

So the general idea I believe, is for every human to be a host for at least one idea in their life time. Hosting an idea works best when it aligns with a human’s curiosity, purpose and flow profile. This is why some ideas come and while we know they are good ideas, we know we don’t want to act on it either because its not just for us, or we won’t be able to stack up enough motivation to follow through. For some lucky few who identify these ideas when they come and indicate their willingness to serve (be a host) because it aligns with their core purpose and flow profile, they find their calling in the expression of this idea.

What ideas are you hosting? What ideas have you passed on? Are you even willing to host? There are more spiritual aspects to this but we stop here…
